Embodied Carbon Analysis

Comprehensive lifecycle carbon assessment using Nezo App platform

Project Carbon Assessment

Our embodied carbon analysis uses Nezo App, a leading carbon assessment platform, to track and analyze the carbon footprint of materials and construction processes across all Simplicity projects. This comprehensive assessment covers stages A1-A3 (product and manufacturing) and A4-A5 (transport and construction).

The interactive assessment below provides detailed insights into our carbon reduction strategies and demonstrates how Simplicity's in-situ concrete methodology delivers superior carbon performance compared to traditional construction methods.

Assessment Methodology

Carbon Stages Assessed

  • A1-A3: Raw material extraction, transport to manufacturer, and manufacturing processes
  • A4: Transport of materials from manufacturer to construction site
  • A5: Construction and installation processes, including on-site energy use and waste

Data Sources

  • Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for all major materials
  • Transport logistics data from actual project delivery records
  • On-site energy monitoring and equipment usage logs
  • Waste management and recycling data

Full Life Cycle Carbon Assessment (Modules A-D)

Using the NZGBC Green Star Embodied Carbon Calculator, we conducted comprehensive whole-of-life carbon assessments across all four Simplicity projects. This holistic analysis covers all life cycle stages from material extraction through end-of-life and beyond.

The results demonstrate continuous improvement in our methodology, with each successive project achieving lower embodied carbon intensity through optimization of materials, construction processes, and end-of-life planning.
